Your parents taught me about hospitality many years ago - they knew how to make me feel special in their lives and home - and still do. So you had a good start Julia! I am all for the ditching once in a while and getting their kicks out while they can - as long as it's not all the time. I never viewed Ferris as being a serial ditcher - so even as I grew up I didn't find a problem with it. He also comes off as not only intelligent, but creative in the movie... and kids like that sometimes need a day away from the desk to survive. There's a real swing among readers and small Christian publishers today (me included) to get away from the preaching and heavy handed approach. We don't like reading it, so we're pretty sure others won't either. Andrea is a delight, and her books represent her beautiful and very real personality. Miscarriage, and multiple miscarriage, frequently go hand-in-hand with primary and secondary infertility, although a significant number of fertile couples are also affected. Simply being able to fall pregnant is only part of the equation - even women who already have children can face their own kind of private hell in the face of babies and pregnancy talk, often because so many pregnancy losses occur so early that they have not even had a chance to tell anyone they were pregnant, before they lost their baby.

So just another thing to keep in mind, really - 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, so chances are very high that women in our lives are suffering in this way too, when it comes to their fertility. I think that just keeping this in mind when we announce and talk about pregnancies, have baby showers, ask about family plans etc can really help us to be sensitive to the depths we might be probing in others.Nic Jhttps://www.twitter.com/nic_jamesonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792840661484206394.post-22900795056581824692012-05-01T11:40:01.174+10:002012-05-01T11:40:01.174+10:00I started reading because I had an overactive imag...I started reading because I had an overactive imagination. It wasn't until about three weeks ago that I found out that was because I had an overactive everything else with ADHD.

Enid Blyton fired my imagination as a child. I still have my dog-eared copies of The Faraway Tree and various Famous Five and Secret Seven books. I was all about reading from 18 months, when I taught myself to read. Voracious is the word that comes to mind.

I also love Eddings. Nothing captivated me like the books of Feist and Eddings when I reached high school and found I had to move into a new area of literature that I wasn't familiar with. David Eddings took me back to the fantasy I loved, but with a very different take on it to Blyton.

I loved this post :)Nathan Carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10545878437619214838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792840661484206394.post-59741230361685725772012-01-08T15:12:08.543+11:002012-01-08T15:12:08.543+11:00Dave and I had out boys name picked out before we ...Dave and I had out boys name picked out before we even started trying for a baby, after his grandfather and mine, and so it was inevitable that we were going to have a girl! Eric loved it so there was no decision needed. Juliette was named last minute walking across the carpark into maternity because I had gone into labour two weeks early and didn't have the name decided. We had two final choices so I asked Eric to pick one so that the baby had a name when she arrived and he chose Juliette. Juliette is after the ballet Romeo and Juliet because I LOVE ballet and that is one of my favourites. We chose the French spelling to go with Evangeline. If we are complicating our lives, getting into debt to keep up with these advances, then I think that is more serious. If we can afford them without overcomplicating our lives and overcommitting our funds, then it's probably a different thing altogether.TheThingsIdTellYouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06864291645372635512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792840661484206394.post-62578846864242393692011-10-19T10:39:12.207+11:002011-10-19T10:39:12.207+11:00Joel and I were both virgins when we got married (...Joel and I were both virgins when we got married (and while it was lightning bolts and fireworks from the word go for us) I agree that the people who say to me "But how can you know it's good if you've nothing to compare it to' simply don't 'get it'.

There's something beautiful (to us) about the fact that we waited until our wedding night.
